Gary Hallam gave the Skål toast.

The evening started off with a Scotch tasting hour, sponsored by Ian Bain. Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres were served during the cocktail hour.

President Philip introduced the guests:

President Philip introduced visiting Skålleague, John Stephenson.

Philip also thanked his entertainment singer, Tena Palmer and her fiddler/guitarist. Tena sang several songs during dinner. Philip also thanked Ian Bain for his Scotch tasting hour. Michael Beckley, Marriott Canada sponsored this entertainment.

Henry Kelly presented Past President Josef Ebner with a Gavel plaque along with the appreciation of the Toronto North members for a great year of leadership in 2007.

President Phil advised the membership that we would like to recruit new Young Skål members and that each member should send in names of potential young members.

Michael Corish, head of Global Scots Canada, talked about in-bound tourism from Scotland. President Philip presented Michael with a plaque and thanked him for taking the time to be with us.

Jay Jhingran thanked, on behalf of the Toronto North members, Andy Loges, GM of the Marriott Hotel Bloor Yorkville and Chef Robert Davey for a outstanding dinner. Henry would also like to thank Frank Commisso for his help in setting up this fine evening. As always, the staff at the Marriott Hotel Bloor Yorkville did a great job.

The next Toronto North meeting will be held at the David Duncan House on February 13th, 2008. This would be a great time to bring your spouse as it's Valentines Day.

The Skål "Closing toast" was given by Herbert Wolf.
